Savannah is 4!

Today our little girl turned 4 years old.  I can't believe where the time has gone.  Charlie and I were talking today that it feels like she was just born and we were crazy new parents not sure what to do with her.  Savannah is such a blessing and we love her so much.  She is the sweetest, funniest little girl we know.  We love how her mind works and the things she tells us.  With Savannah it is a new adventure everyday.  We can't wait to see what the next year holds for her!
We were able to have her party on her actual birthday because it fell on a Saturday.  Savannah wanted to have a party at the YMCA with the bounce house.  She also wanted a princess party.  So, that is exactly what we did.  Pa-paw graciously made her a beautiful Ariel cake and we decorated in princesses.  All the kids had a blast jumping in the bounce house and playing in the gym.  Savannah was blessed to celebrate with all her family and friends.  Savannah had a great birthday!  Here are some pictures of our beautiful 4 year old.

Savannah is so excited about her doughnut for breakfast!

Savannah says....

Savannah never ceases to amaze Charlie and I with the things she comes up with and the things she tells us.  Today I picked her up from school and this is how our conversation went:

Me: What did you learn about at school today?
Savannah: Jasmine
Me:  What about Jasmine?
Savannah:  There was this tree that had some bad apples on it and God said not to eat those apples but Jasmine did anyway.  She disobeyed God.
Me:  Do you mean Adam and Eve?
Savannah:  That might have been it Mom. They should have listened to God and got some good apples at the grocery store.

Savannah had me laughing like crazy.  At least if she didn't remember who it was about she got the idea of the story.  We love the mind of a 3 year old!

Family Beach Trip

August 4 - August 11, 2013
We were blessed this year to be able to take a family beach trip with the Beam side of the family.  Alisa and John are home from China and that was Alisa's request to Mom and Dad.  Mom and Dad rented a big house at the Outer Banks for us to stay in.  Me-Maw, Pa-Paw, Larry, Renee, Ryan, Kayleigh, Chuck, Susan, Casey, Amanda, and Grayson were also able to come.  It was great.  The house was crazy most of the week with five kids running around.  They all loved playing on the beach and in the pool.  We were able to go to Ocracoke one day and see that island.  We cooked as a family most nights.  Well Matt did a lot of cooking most nights.  It was an awesome week and we hope to do it again.  Here are some pictures from our trip.

Not sure what Savannah was doing here.

THE BIG ONE!!!

July 27, 2013
Our little man turned one today.  We can not believe that it has been a whole year since God blessed us with CJ.  He has grown so much this year.  CJ is so fun to be around.  He makes us laugh all the time.  CJ adores his sister and loves to play with her.  CJ really likes music now.  If he hears music playing he just bounces up and down.  It is really cute.  This month CJ has started to imitate the sounds that we make.  CJ learned to stand alone this month.  He has also become some interested in looking at books.  When I took him for his one year check up he weighed 23 pounds 12 ounces and was 32 inches long.  That put him in the 60th percentile for weight and 95th for length.  Dr Fisher said that he was doing great and right on track.  We got to celebrate CJ's Birthday on his actual Birthday.  We had a party down at the lake.  CJ ate tons of watermelon and cheese balls.  He liked opening his presents.  He just wanted to play with each thing he opened instead of opening another present.  CJ was not a big fan of his cake which surprised Charlie and I.  When we finally got him to stick his finger in the cake he took a piece and touched it to his tongue and then threw it on the floor.  We think it was a texture thing but who knows.  Overall CJ had a great first Birthday and a great day celebrating with family.  We just thank the Lord for blessing us with such a wonderful little boy!
 CJ loves a cheese ball!

CJ was not sure what was going on.

As you can see he was not a fan of the cake.
