Our whole family went to the Great Wolf Lodge to stay on Sunday night. My parents decided they wanted to take all the kids to play on the water slides and in the pools. We had a great time. Jody, Ann, Hundley, Ashlyn, and Joe all got to join us for the fun. When we got down there on Sunday afternoon we hit the water immediately. The kids (big and small) were amazed at all we could do. The little ones loved playing in the kiddie pool and with all of the toys. The big kids loved the water slides. There was one slide that was called the Howling tornado and it stayed true to its name. It would make you howl every time you went down it. We enjoyed taking turns riding with different people to see how fast you could get and how high you would go. The lifeguards working the slides would just laugh at us. We even got Nanna to go down a water slide which Poppa got on video. It was not the big one because she said she would never speak to us again if we took her on that but it was the next biggest one and she loved it. Hundley and Ashlyn thought it was great to see their great aunt Frankie on a water slide. We had a great time and the kids did not want to leave. They just could not understand why we could not stay another night. It was wonderful and we hope to do it again soon.

17 Month's Old!

February 28, 2011
Savannah turned 17 month's old today. She is really starting to talk a lot more. I think that is partly thanks to Kayleigh and Zeb being around. She has no choice but to talk to keep up with them. She loves playing outside and since it has been beautiful weather we have been going out a lot. We love her so much and are so thankful for her!

Cozy Coupe!

February 17, 2011
Holly and Matt gave Savannah this cozy coupe for Christmas this year. Well it has been really pretty outside the past couple of days so I decided to take Savannah out to play. While she was playing with her wagon I thought I would put together her cozy coupe. It was a little more complicated than I had expected. It had way more parts than I would have ever imagined. With that said this was all I could get together for her to play with. She had no idea that it was suppose to have anything else. Savannah just loved getting in and out of it. Later that night when Charlie got home he finished putting it together for her.

Music!

Savannah playing the piano.
January 30, 2011
Today Savannah was just playing around the house as usual when I hear from another room the piano playing. I just thought she was messing with it in the floor. Well when I went into the living room this is where I found her. She had managed to climb up into her rocking chair with her piano and was sitting there playing it. It was so cute. Who knows she may be a musician some day.

Carolina verses State!

The Beam family

January 29, 2011
Today the whole family minus Matt, Lindsey and the kids got to go to the Carolina State basketball game. We had a blast. It is the first time in years that our whole family got to go to the game. John and Alisa were so excited about going to the game. They have not even been to a game since Holly and I were in college. It was a wonderful game because Carolina beat State 84-64. We started our day off by eating at one of our favorite places "Sutton's Drug Store." It was delicious as always. Then we did a little shopping and went to the game. After the game we ended the day eating at 411 West. Which is another awesome place to eat in Chapel Hill. As you can see from the pictures above we were pretty close to the top of the Dean Dome but none the less we were there and had a great time!

16 Month's Old!

Savannah in her new boots!
January 28, 2011
Savannah is 16 months old today. We still can't believe how fast she is growing up. Everyday is a new adventure for us. We never know what she is going to do to make us laugh. The boots she has on in the picture above are some boots I bought her for next year. She liked them so much that she had to wear them now. She walked around the house in those all night. She thought she would sport the diaper and boot combo.

Kayleigh is so excited about her princess tent.
Zeb loved his "Queen" car that we got him.
Alisa with a skeleton outfit for baby "butter." Savannah has one like it.
Savannah playing in the box that Matt and Holly's gift was in. This reminds me of Meredith in a box when she was that age.
Zeb laying in his Cars sleeping bag.
Kayleigh testing out her princess sleeping bag.
Johnathan trying to decide who to shoot with a marshmallow.
Charlie is so excited about his marshmallow gun!
All the kids made a pyramid outside that night.

January 22, 2011
Today we celebrated Christmas with Alisa and John and the Allen side of the family. It was great to be able to actually have Christmas with Alisa and John. Mom made us french toast for breakfast this morning and then we exchanged gifts with each other. The kids were so excited about all of their presents. They could not even hardly concentrate on what they were getting before they were opening another present. There were even some presents in there for Alisa's new baby. Alisa and John are not telling the name again so Kayleigh and Zeb call their baby sister "baby butter." Well that has stuck and until she arrives that will be her name. Mom and Dad got all the boys marshmallow guns for Christmas. You would have thought she struck gold with them. Mom told them that they were not allowed to shoot marshmallows in the house and that lasted all of about 30 seconds before all of them tore into their bags of marshmallows and started shooting each other. Zeb wanted John to shoot one in his mouth and that did not turn out so well. It made poor Zeb's mouth sore. I don't recommend that at home. All of the Rhynes got to come up for dinner that night to celebrate Christmas. All of the kids enjoyed riding the golf cart, playing with each other, and building a pyramid. It was a great Christmas in January.
