February 16th-21st
Charlie, Savannah, and I were so lucky to be able to go to Mardi Gras this year. We went with several people from our church and Charlie's Dad. One of the guys from the church grew up in New Orleans so he knew his way around and where to take us when. We had a blast. I think we saw more parades in the time we were gone than Savannah has in her whole life. It was so interesting to see all the people dressed up and the beautiful floats. The people on the floats loved little kids. They would do anything to give them beads or toys. Savannah thought it was Christmas all over again. Dyer (one of the guys from church) made a ladder box for the girls to sit in so the people on the floats could see them to throw them stuff. You can see the ladder box in the pictures above. It was just right for all of the girls to fit in. They had a blast. Savannah loved having friends around all the time. We got to visit downtown New Orleans, go to the French Quarter, see Jackson Square, and have beignets at Cafe Du Monde. We ate at wonderful restaurants. Hopefully we will be able to go back again another time. I hope you enjoy the pictures.
