Christmas Tree 2013

Today we were able to go and get our Christmas Tree.  We did something different than we had done in the past.  This year we went with a big group of people we go to church with to a whole sale tree farm to pick out or tree.  We started with eating breakfast at a place in Morganton.  It was really good!  We then headed up the mountain.  It did snow a little on the way up.  It did not take us to long to pick out our Christmas Tree.  Once we did the kids just enjoyed walking around on this tree farm while everyone else looked for their tree.  Ashlea Kuster and Taylor Kuster set up a little photo area for all of us to have our picture taken.  We were hopefully able to get a Christmas card out of this.  Here are some pictures from our trip.

Great Wolf Lodge!

Today we were able to go to Great Wolf lodge with my family.  We had a blast.  We had not been since Alisa and John were home last which was over 2 years ago.  Savannah was one and I don't think she remembered much from it.  She was super excited about going and playing in the water all day and night.  CJ loved the water and is not scared of anything.  He would just walk right into the kiddie pool and not worry about falling or anything.  He did go under a couple of times which caught him off guard but he would just get back up and go again.  This time Savannah was able to ride some of the water slides which she loved.  She was not the least be scared.  Charlie and I also loved riding the big water slides when we would get a chance.  There is nothing like the Howling Tornado to take your breath away!  We all stayed in one room which was interesting.  The kids of coursed loved it.  The first day went really well.  That night CJ threw up in his bed and started getting sick.  Charlie and I were up with him most of the night.  It is very hard trying to keep him quiet in order not to wake up the rest of the room.  The next morning Holly was able to come and join us.  We had another great day on Saturday besides us having to leave a little early because CJ was sick with the stomach bug.  After we all got home everybody ended up with the stomach virus besides Charlie and Poppa.  They were the two lucky ones.  Overall we had a great time and the kids loved it.  Even the big kids!  Hopefully we will be able to do it again!

 CJ was one tired boy!

Halloween 2013

This Halloween Savannah dressed up as strawberry shortcake and CJ was a lobster.  They looked so cute!  Nanna took them trick or treating up at her house and to visit all the family.  They got tons of candy up there.  Then Charlie, Pa-Paw and I took them trick or treating in our neighborhood.  Savannah had a blast going to the different houses.  CJ thought he needed to eat everything he got.  They both had a great time and ended up with way to much candy.

CJ is 15 Month's Old!

CJ turned 15 month's old today.  He is so much fun to be around and has so much personality.  We love him so much!  Here are some pictures of our little man!

Our First Camping Trip

We got to go on our first camping trip this weekend.  It was quite the adventure.  Charlie had been camping before but it had been a long time.  The kids and I had never been camping before so it was the first time for us.  We were able to go with Matt, Holly, Wil, Bonnie, Kali, and Liam.  We went to Grayson Highland State Park in Virginia.  The plan was for us to tent camp until we looked at the weather forecast.  They were calling for snow on Thursday night the first night we were suppose to be up there.  The lows were going to be in the 20's and highs in the upper 30's and low 40's.  Since that was the weather forecast Matt's brother Jason graciously let us use their pop up camper.  We were not able to get the heat to work the first night so all four of us slept in the same bed in order to stay warm.  Holly and Matt were on the other end of the camper and they froze that night.  When we woke up the next morning there were 3-4 inches of snow on the ground.  It was wild!  We quickly found out that CJ did not like to be cold and that he was not the greatest at walking in several layers of clothes.  On Friday it warmed up a little bit and we were able to go play on the swing set.  The kids really liked that.  Charlie and Matt with the help of some others figured out how to get our heat to work so Friday night was a much better night for us.  On Saturday morning we got up and took a hike to see the wild ponies.  CJ slept most of the walk up but both kids really seemed to enjoy the hike.  That afternoon we were able to go and do the Virginia Creeper bike trail.  We had a blast and so did the kids.  We loved just looking around.  The kids also carved some pumpkins and we put those out at our camp site.  They enjoyed that.  We drank lots of hot chocolate and apple cider and ate lots of smores and roasted marshmallows.  Wil, Matt, and Charlie were our cooks for the weekend and they did a fabulous job!  Over all it was a great weekend!
Savannah and Kali about to go on our hike.

Pumpkin Patch 2013

Today we were able to go and have the kids picture taken at the pumpkin patch.  It went really well.  I think it helped that CJ had just woken up from a nap.

Charlie and Savannah's conversation

Tonight when Charlie was putting Savannah to bed this is what she had to say...

Savannah:  Daddy when are you and Mommy going to get married again?
Charlie: What do you mean?
Savannah: When are you going to get married so Mommy can have my baby sister?
Charlie: Well Savannah all you can do about a baby sister is pray.
Savannah: But I have been praying for a long time.
Charlie: Well honey you just have to be patient with Jesus.
Savannah:  When Mommy has by baby sister we are going to name her Savannah so I will know who she is talking to.
Charlie:  We can't name her Savannah because Mommy and Daddy will get confused.
Savannah:  I won't get confused.

We love this girl!
